The fourth quarter of 2022 saw significant activity in the Food and Drink app category in Saudi Arabia. Here’s a breakdown of how the top five apps performed, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Hungerstation experienced a varied trend in weekly downloads, starting strong with 64K in the week of September 26 and peaking at 67K in the week of October 31. The app saw a dip to around 52K in early December but bounced back to 58K by the end of the quarter. Weekly active users showed a similar fluctuation, beginning at around 982K and reaching a high of 1.2M in the week of November 21 before settling at 1M by the end of December.

Starbucks KSA had a notable debut, with weekly downloads peaking at 131K in the second week of October. This initial surge gradually declined, ending the quarter at approximately 21K downloads. Active user numbers also reflected this trend, starting at 33K in early October and stabilizing at around 104K by the end of December.

Ninja - نينجا showed a steady performance in downloads, with a notable spike to 77K in the last week of October. The app’s downloads ranged between 32K and 77K throughout the quarter. Active users remained relatively stable, starting at 159K and peaking at 200K in mid-December before ending the quarter at 191K.

McDonald’s - Non-US maintained a consistent download rate, hovering around the 40K mark for most of the quarter, with a peak of 49K in the last week of December. Active user numbers were strong, starting at 426K and increasing steadily to 545K in early December before slightly declining to 470K by the end of the quarter.

ToYou Delivery, Rides & More saw its highest weekly downloads in the first week of October at 75K, followed by a fluctuating trend that ended at 36K in the last week of December. Active users remained fairly consistent, starting at 245K and ending the quarter at 216K.
